background

Katharine is an ARB-registered and RIBA-chartered architect with over 20 years of experience delivering high-impact architecture and interior design. Her career is driven by a simple belief: good design should be strategically sound, socially positive and commercially deliverable.

In her dual role at gcp, an employee-owned practice, Katharine combines creative design with a commercial lens. She works closely with clients from project inception, to define design intent and feasibility, while simultaneously driving practice growth through strategic marketing and high value bid submissions. This holistic approach ensures that the vision for every project is anchored in reality and long-term viability.

experience

Throughout her career, Katharine has committed to providing value through a blend of creative intuition and technical efficiency. She manages a diverse portfolio across the residential, care, heritage, and education sectors, with a particular talent for unlocking the potential of complex sites through strategic planning and a strong professional network.

Katharine has a proven track record of reinventing spaces, from transforming school gyms into multi-functional theatres to designing award-winning sports pavilions. In the residential and care sectors, her work is rooted in a resident-focused philosophy, creating accessible environments that promote dignity and well-being.

With expertise in both rural master planning and high-density urban schemes, Katharine is adept at leading developments through sensitive planning hurdles, including the Green Belt and heritage assets. Whether developing a commercial bid or a feasibility study, she is dedicated to delivering environments that function beautifully for the clients who fund them, and the communities who live and work within them.
