background

Siobhán is a CIAT Chartered Architectural Technologist who worked and trained within the design team for sheltered housing developers McCarthy and Stone for 5 years before joining gcp in 2008. Siobhán now leads multiple teams at gcp within the housing sector, focused on delivering excellence from Stage 4 onwards. Siobhán’s technical knowledge and rigorous approach to detailed design are major contributors to gcp’s establishment as leading housing delivery architects.

She is also responsible for coordinating CPD events and supporting team training needs.

Siobhán is a trained Principal Designer, allowing her to support projects under the current CDM 2015 Regulations. Siobhán has completed several courses on Information Management. This supports gcp’s move towards a globally recognised BIM certification standard to ensure that the team are producing information in support of industry targets.

experience

Siobhán works primarily within the technical team of gcp Architecture, predominantly within the Housing sector, and has obtained an in-depth understanding of Design Standards, Regulations and the importance of how these interact with client requirements. Siobhán has extensive experience of working at technical design stage and particularly enjoys complicated schemes where problem solving is essential and strategic information needs to be produced and coordinated.

Siobhan’s experience includes working closely with contractors on Design-Build contracts and she brings a detailed understanding of the needs of contractors to her work. This has included working onsite in a Design Coordinator role as a part of the contractor’s team on a complex housing project in Bath.
